Prayer Week for Dads

As we celebrated Father’s Day this past weekend, we want to continue to celebrate dads and dedicate this week to pray for them.

We’d love for you to join us every day as we pray for dads across the world. We’ll start today and end on Friday. Invite your family and friends or your small groups to pray with you. You can also ask specific dads in your life for their specific prayer requests.

Pray throughout the week

Monday

  • Dads in your community: neighbourhood, church and other local contexts.

    • You yourselves are our letter of recommendation, written on our hearts, to be known and read by all. And you show that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts. -2 Corinthians 3:2-3

  • Dads around the world: those living in other provinces and countries, missionaries and etc.

    • He has remembered his steadfast love and faithfulness to the house of Israel. All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.-Psalm 98:3

Tuesday

  • Dads on the front lines: doctors, nurses, retail support workers, etc.

    • But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy, and spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may exult in you. -Psalm 5:11

  • Dads who might be particularly vulnerable to COVID-19: pre-existing conditions, immunocompromised, etc.

    • And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. -2 Corinthians 9:8

  • Dads who are at home with a child who has special needs or health concerns and is away from extra support and services.

    • Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. -Isaiah 41:10

Thursday

  • Dads with mental health challenges who feel isolated, anxious, and helpless.

    • And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. -Philippians 4:7

Friday

  • Dads who are expecting to welcome a child in their lives.

    • He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms; he will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young. -Isaiah 40:11

  • Dads who have experienced or will experience loss in any way.

    • The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. -Psalm 34:18
