 What We Believe

We believe in the absolute truth of the Bible, and that grace through faith in Jesus is the only way to receive eternal life.

  • We believe in the complete verbal inspiration of the Holy Bible, that its original manuscripts were written by men divinely inspired, therefore it is the infallible Word of God and a perfect standard for both faith and practice.

    2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:16-21; Joshua 1:8; Jeremiah 30:2; John 3:10; John 7:52; Hebrews 4:12

  • We believe that there is one God, the only one living and true God, the supreme, infinite, perfect spirit, in whom all things have their source, support, and end; that in the unity of the Godhead, there are three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; equal in every divine perfection, and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption.

    Genesis 1:26; Deuteronomy 6:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1-18; Philippians 2:5-9; 1 John 3:23-24; Revelation 5:1-7; Isaiah 6:1-5

  • We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin, lived a sinless life, died for our sins, and was raised up for our justification; that He is fully God and fully man, and is the only and sufficient mediator between God and man, through whom every soul may have direct access to God.

    Matthew 1:18-25; Matthew 24:30; Matthew 28:6; Isaiah 7:14; Colossians 1:15-19; 1 Timothy 2:5; Acts 1:3, 11;  Acts 4:12; John 1:1-3; John 14:3-6;  Romans 14:17; 1 Corinthians 15: 3-4; 2 Corinthians 5:21;  1 Thessalonians 1:9-10; 1 Peter 2:22-24; 1 Peter 3:10; Revelation 1:8

  • We believe in the absolute deity and personality of the Holy Spirit; that His ministry is to reveal Christ to men in the regeneration and sanctification of their souls, and in the understanding and application of Christian truth.

    Acts 5:3-4; John 3:1-8; John 14:16-17, 26; John 16:7-15; 1 Corinthians 12:13;  Galatians 5:22-23; Ephesians 1:13-14;  Ephesians 4:11-16; Hebrews 9:14

  • We believe that man was created in holiness but fell into sin not by constraint but by choice, therefore, is under God's just condemnation.

Man can be saved only by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.  On the cross, He once and for all shed His precious blood for the remission of sins.

We believe that once a man is truly saved, he cannot lose his salvation, for he is eternally secure in the Lord Jesus Christ.

    Genesis 1:27; Isaiah 53:6; John 10:27-28; 2 Timothy 1:12; Romans 3:10-18, 23; Romans 8:38-39;  Ephesians 2:1-3, 8-9; Ephesians 4:18; Titus 3:5-6; Revelation 20:11-15; Romans 5:1-19

  • We believe in the two ordinances of Christ for the Church, namely: baptism by immersion; and the Lord's Supper. Baptism does not save, but is an act of obedience to the command of Christ and a testimony to the world of our faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The Lord's Supper, by the use of unleavened bread and the fruit of the vine, commemorate together the death of Christ preceded always by solemn self-examination.

    Romans 6:15; Matthew 28:19-20; 1 Corinthians 11: 23-30

  • We believe that as Christians we have to live a life of holiness by the help of the Holy Spirit, and that the things that God entrusted to us should be ministered under the will of God for the purpose of Jesus Christ, and in the expression of this stewardship we have to systematically and proportionately contribute to the support of this Church and of the missionary enterprises of Christ's kingdom.

    1 Peter 1:16;  2 Corinthians 8:1-24; 2 Corinthians 9:1-15

  • We believe, and look for, the imminent personal, visible, and glorious return of our Lord Jesus Christ from heaven.  We believe in the resurrection of both the just and the unjust; the just will be destined to eternal happiness in heaven and the unjust to eternal suffering in hell.

    1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Acts 1:11; John 14:1-3; Matthew 25:46; Revelation 20:5-13; Luke 16: 19-31

  • We believe that every Church is independent and self governing but that it is under moral obligation to associate itself with other Churches of like precious faith and order in approved common enterprises that seek the promotion of Christ's kingdom, particularly such as missions, Christian education, and Christian charitable endeavours.

We believe that the local Church is a congregation of baptized believers associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the Gospel, observing the ordinances of Christ, governed by His laws, and exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by His Word.

    Ephesians 1:22-23; Ephesians 5:25-27;  1 Corinthians 12:12-14;  1 Corinthians 11:2   Hebrews 10:23-25

  • We believe that God ordained marriage to be between one man and one woman in a lifelong relationship that provides a safe and healthy environment for both marriage partners and their children to prosper physically, spiritually, emotionally, socially and psychologically.

    Genesis 1:26;  Genesis 2:18-25; Ephesians 5:22-33; Romans 7:1-3; 1 Corinthians 7:1-24

The institution of marriage is a fundamental part of the fabric of every society worldwide and over the centuries for protecting and promoting strong families. Any deviation from God's original design and intention for marriage and family will have a direct and negative impact on the long-term well being of the family, of individuals and of our entire society. Therefore, in the light of God's revealed design for marriage and family life, we believe that the following conducts are incompatible with Christian standards and biblical values, and that they are negative and harmful both for individuals, for marriages and families and for our entire society.
