Rejoicing in God’s Faithfulness

We are absolutely thrilled to share in the joy of our third anniversary, celebrated on Sunday, September 24th. It’s an exciting moment that allows us to dive into the profound importance of unwavering faith.

Psalm 89:1-8 is a reminder of God’s constant love and faithfulness, extending throughout all generations. It is a testament to the vital role faith plays in our church planting journey, a journey filled not only with faith but also with the power of prayer and the unity of believers.

I will sing of the steadfast love of the Lord, forever; with my mouth I will make known your faithfulness to all generations. For I said, “Steadfast love will be built up forever; in the heavens you will establish your faithfulness.” You have said, “I have made a covenant with my chosen one; I have sworn to David my servant: ‘I will establish your offspring forever, and build your throne for all generations.’” Selah Let the heavens praise your wonders, O Lord, your faithfulness in the assembly of the holy ones! For who in the skies can be compared to the Lord? Who among the heavenly beings is like the Lord, God greatly to be feared in the council of the holy ones, and awesome above all who are around him? O Lord God of hosts, who is mighty as you are, O Lord, with your faithfulness all around you?

Navigating Doubts

The path of church planting is rarely without its moments of doubt and uncertainty. Are we truly equipped for the mission? Are we losing sight of God’s vision? These questions often cast shadows on our journey, making us question our calling and abilities.

In such times, Psalm 89 can be our refuge. It acknowledges God’s unchanging love and faithfulness, just as He established a covenant with David and made promises. So, when doubt clouds our vision, we are reminded remember that God’s faithfulness remains unshaken.

Prayer and the Strength of Unity

In the midst of doubts and uncertainty, we've discovered the solace and strength found in the power of prayer. It’s not merely a source of comfort but a lifeline to God’s unwavering faithfulness and His divine purpose for our journey.

We’ve also come to realize the importance of seeking support from our fellow believers. We are thankful to the Lord for our partners, Christ Almighty Baptist Church and the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Central Region. Their support (both in prayer, mentorship and finances), their guidance, and their encouragement have played an integral role in our journey.

Our collective journey beautifully reflects the wisdom found in Galatians 6:2, reminding us to “bear one another’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ.” As a united community of believers, we embrace our shared responsibility to go and make disciples of all nations. We hold on to the assurance that the Lord’s presence within us and His guiding hand before us are our unwavering sources of strength as we joyfully follow His path.

Our hearts are filled with gratitude as we extend our appreciation to the Lord for our dedicated volunteers who ensured we had a delightful time connecting with one another. Our special day was made even more memorable with the presence of a talented balloon artist, a skilled caricature artist, and the sweet delights from the ice cream truck. Additionally, we've been truly blessed by the warm hospitality of Bayfair Baptist Church, who graciously opened their doors and allowed us to use their space for our afternoon service.

Anticipating God’s Work in Our Community

We are excited for what God has in store for our community. Our mission goes beyond the growth of our church; it’s about advancing God’s kingdom in Pickering, ON—the community He has placed us in. We’re excited to witness lives transformed, families restored, and hope rekindled. And through it all, our deepest desire is to give God the glory, for it is His grace and love that empower us.

Our journey has been further enriched by our outreach efforts and community building through sports and small groups. We’re strengthening our bonds with the community that God has entrusted to us. Building relationships, offering hope, and making a tangible difference in the lives of those around us have become the hallmark of our mission.

Continuing in Prayer for a Dedicated Space

We humbly ask for your prayers. As we continue on this path, we are actively seeking a dedicated space in the Pickering area. We trust in the Lord’s provision and guidance and seek your prayers for His divine intervention in providing us with a space that will serve as a sanctuary for worship, a hub for fellowship, and a base for our community outreach initiatives. We are excited to see God’s love flourish in our community!

Our third anniversary is not just a milestone—it’s a celebration of God’s faithfulness to our church! Your continued prayers and support are appreciated more than words can express. Together, we move forward, steadfast in faith, trusting in God’s unwavering faithfulness.
